I am setting up a new Windows PC and would like to "mirror" all my VI Package manager packages installations on that computer from an existing computer. I've searched and found a few articles stating to manually copy *.ogp and *.vip package files from the "C:\ProgramData\JKI\VIPM\cache" directory to the new PC. Is this the "official" way to do this? This seems there should be a cleaner way, like creating a package of packages. Is this possible? I am using VIPM 2024 Free Edition. If I select "Build Packages" and select Create New, the dialog asks for a source directory. If I point it to a an empty folder then click next I get another dialog for VI Package Builder. It looks like I can click on Package Dependencies and manually add the existing packages, one by one. Will this work? Is there a way to select the installed packages and create a single package from it? That way I can copy that file to the other PC and click it to install all of them at once.

Thanks for the reply. Any thoughts on removing and/or repairing the broken DQMH packages that VI Peek installed?

Excellent suggestion. I'd also like to to see a column (or in the details page) if a package is a trial version that later must be purchased.

Is VIPM 2024 supposed to take 45 seconds to start up? Anyways, it had zero effect. The VIPM.io package that I installed (VI Peek) is still not listed. I checked both LV2017 as well as System under the LabVIEW Version pull down. In my initial post, I forgot to mention that the VI_Peek package attempted to install DQMH but that failed partway through. Apparently parts of its package were in a LV version higher than 2017. Now it seems I have a "butchered" version on DQMH. PS: It would be handy to have an Installed/Updated On Date column.

I inadvertently installed a package from the VIPM.IO site that requires a higher LabVIEW version than I have installed. However, it installed it anyways. Now, if I open my VIPM desktop app, the package is not listed, so I cannot uninstall it. Is there a way of manually uninstalling the package by running "VIPM file Handler.exe" with some command line switches? More details: I found a package on VIPM.IO. I clicked the orange "Install with VIPM"button. I was presented with I clicked Open Link button and it proceeded to install. At completion i got this message I am using the following software versions: VIPM 2020 LabVIEW 2017 17.0.1f4

Problem resolved: After exiting from the failed installation, I found and manually deleted the JKI folder C:\Program Files (x86)\JKI then re-ran the VIPM 2019 setup exe.

I am trying to install VIPM on an embedded PC (no internet access). I copied the VIPM setup Exe to the pc. I am logged in with administer rights, yet I get this error when installing. the error log mentions something about network error. It seems I've installed VIPM without internet access before. Does "Network Error" refer to internet access or that it can't connect to LabVIEW? Also, the embedded PC already had VIPM 2017 installed. After running the install for VIPM2019, I discovered that it uninstalled my VIPM 2017! We resolved the issue. Apparently some malware scanning setting in our web filter.

Another interesting observation: If I choose Not Installed packages, I get a list of packages. Regardless of which package I choose, I get the following when I try to install it: "Package is not compatible with your operating system or any LabVIEW version installed..." I am running Windows 10 with LV 2017

Yes, I checked that setting. I tried both settings. Both give the same error when refreshing

Hi Jim. Definitely something with my PC. I tried from another computer and no error when refreshing the packages. I also tried running the Package Manager install and choose Repair. Not effect - still get the original error. My IT is scratching his head too. Any thoughts?

I've rebooted and even got latest windows 10 updates build 1909. Not sure what you mean by "read the file". After starting VIPM 2019, I get an error when checking for updates: " there was an error accessing the following repositories:" LabVIEW Tools Network and VI Package Network. I have been using VIPM 2019 ever since it came out and have not seen this issue until now. I have checked for update and I am running the latest. I have checked with my IT guy and there is no web filtering that would be causing it not to get through.
